The merging of cultures.
A moment in time of my place in the world, the Northern hemisphere seen as it was on the day of my departure from my place of residence in the Netherlands, and the ever changing perception of my view.
July 2013
humanity
first and
foremost
I wonder if
we could ever
survive
without
them
flags
my place in
the world has
become
trivial yet
of utmost
importance
the Universe
one as
the journey
continues

My works often encompass the concept of time and space through a variety of media. I like to get to the nitty gritty of things. Pay attention to detail. Make you think, make you wonder. I feel, and literally BREATHE, the projects I'm working on. Almost feeling like I AM the project, I am becoming, in my own creative process. Gorgeous constellation...and everything is revolving around Britain :)...lol...
Ingrid Van Amsterdam replied:
Thank you so much Michel yes and flags happen to have become an issue in several parts of the world now, and for various reasons..! This constellation is how it appeared from the Eindhoven observatoty on the 16th of May 1988 and the amazing thing was I was able to go back in time and view it when I did my research for this painting, at the New Plymouth observatory in New Zealand in 2013!
